Fox News in Tampa Disses Detroit on Twitter

We all have some anger about the trades in baseball that happened yesterday, but unlike this Fox station in Tampa I didn’t diss the city my favorite player was being traded to (You will be missed Austin Jackson.)

The Florida news station took to their twitter account before Tampa Rays player David Price was traded using the hashtag #KeyPrice, and when that didn’t work they reverted to dissing the city he was being traded to. First this is not only super unprofessional but they should have know better than to mess with Detroit.

This tweet I believe has since been deleted from their account for obvious reasons. The Fox 2 News station in Detroit responded to the mean tweet with a hilarious response…

Admitting they were wrong and in defeat, the Tampa station tweeted back saying, “We apologize, #Detroit. We wish David the best of luck no matter where he is!” The meme is from Anchorman and isn’t fitting since his would always say “stay classy”, and this station was far from it.

The player himself is dealing with the trade well, and tweeted to his followers, “wow…what a day!! Rays fans THANK YOU!! Great Chapter of my life just ended…ready to start a new one with the Tigers!! Thanks again”.

Pitcher Drew Smyly from the Tigers is being traded to the Tampa Rays.  In an interview posted by the Detroit Free Press the player talks about the trade saying it was, “Unexpected. Didn’t see it coming. I didn’t want to leave here. These guys are awesome. We have a great team.” He also tweeted fans saying, “Thanks to the Tigers organization and fans for giving me the opportunity to fulfill my dreams! Looking forward to the next chapter!”

The two pitchers swapping positions have tweeted each other and the short conversation makes me wish these two were on a team together #CouldHaveBeenABromance.
